Built in 1957 by master craftsman Hobart Dowler, the Memorial Lodge beckons a time of creativity and pride in workmanship. The two-story lodge overlooks Pigeon Lake and features two stone fireplaces.
Our programs teach students about the stories associated with this particular place and region, how the people here coped with and affected change and how this history is related to life in the region today.
The Rundle’s Mission Society strives to promote the use of the site for reflection, environmental preservation, education and enjoyment by people of all backgrounds and locations.
Located by the NW shores of beautiful Pigeon Lake Alberta, only one hour south of Edmonton, our 23 acres of forests and rolling hills create a peaceful setting for your next retreat. Our site is unique as it offers groups and families both privacy and convenience of local services required for a successful event. We have hosted weddings, family reunions, youth camps, management meetings, small church retreats, ski clubs and more. You may rent one, two or all three of our facilities for the ultimate in privacy. We are Open Year Round.
Rundle’s Mission has been part of Alberta for the past 175 years when The Rev. Robert Terrill Rundle established the mission in 1847. Today, we are a designated Alberta Historic Site and continue to be a “meeting place” where we welcome visitors, offer educational programs, care for the surrounding Nature Conservancy, and provide affordable accommodation for groups and individuals who appreciate our site. This includes both the Beach House and the Country Cottage, which have five bedrooms with full bath in each.
