When you arrive at Rundle’s Mission you will notice the large grassy hills surrounded by an expansive forest of flora and fauna. There is ample room for a game of baseball, Bocce ball, flying a kite or sledding down our big hills. Along the south side of the site is beautiful Pigeon Lake and our NEW Lakeshore Lookout Gazebo. Mission beach road meanders in front of Rundle’s Mission and offers a nice place to stroll along the lakeshore. For a beach swim, walk along mission beach road for 1/2 kilometre to a roped off swimming area and playground for the kids.
Behind the guest houses is the entrance to 220 acres of Nature Conservancy. You will discover 6 km of nature path and groomed cross country ski trails in the winter months. It makes a perfect spot for enjoying the natural environment and you might even see a moose or deer who live in the woods year round. Beside the Memorial Lodge is an Alberta Historic Site with Interpretive panels depicting the history of this site and its importance to the settlement of Western Canada.
We recommend you leave your electronics at home so you can truly enjoy the natural surroundings. We do have limited internet access if you require it. It is not suitable for large downloads or live streaming. Your pets can come along if they are approved by your group leader BUT they must stay outside the facilities. A damages fee will be applied if evidence of any pets are in our facilities.
Once you have discovered the serenity of Rundle’s Mission we are very confident that you will agree – it is a special place to be discovered and enjoyed.
